rainfall | Code Geass: Lost Colors: School Festival Lelouch Translation

Well, since it came up in RP, I decided to go ahead and do a proper translation of this youtube video. I haven't gotten there yet in my playthrough (there's been a looooot of RL getting in my way this year), but in the meantime, please enjoy this script. <snerk>

NOTE: The player in this video has named Rai バルバトス (Barbatos?), so that's what it says on screen.

When Lelouch and I came down from the rooftop, we found the hallways inside were overflowing with people. Looks like the festival's a big hit.

RAI:
"Lelouch, is there anywhere you're supposed to be?"

LELOUCH:
"I don't know, I've had my hands so full with just the executive committee activities that I haven't had time to check my schedule¹."

FEMALE STUDENT D:
"Welcome to the Cosplay Cafe! Please, come right in!"

RAI:
"Huh?"

What's a Cosplay Cafe...?

FEMALE STUDENT D:
"We have many wonderful costumes~. By all means, come celebrate the school festival with us! All dressed up is the best way to enjoy the festival!"

LELOUCH:
"H, hang on a moment! We're just innocent bystanders!"

RAI:
"Lelouch, just what is a Cosplay Cafe?"

LELOUCH:
"Well, the long and short of it is..."

FEMALE STUDENT D:
"There's not a girl alive who doesn't want to see Lelouch in cosplay! There's no escape for you~"

LELOUCH:
"Wa, wait, please! I..."

RAI:
"Ack!"

FEMALE STUDENT D:
"This way~"

FEMALE STUDENT D:
"Here's your costume~"

...This could't really be what it looked like...

FEMALE STUDENT D:
"And don't forget to use the padding~"

...I went white as a sheet.

FEMALE STUDENT D:
"Say hello to each other²~"

LELOUCH:
"... <unhappy grumbly noise>"

RAI:
"..."

LELOUCH:
"...And so here we are, each seeing something we should never have had to see..."

RAI:
"Yeah... totally."

There was a cold wind blowing through my chest, and yet... the closer I looked at him... the more I thought it was a surprisingly good look on him. If I said that to Lelouch, he'd probably just get mad...

LELOUCH:
"A, anyway, we should change back into our original clothes, for both our sakes..."

RAI:
"Yeah, you're right..."

SHIRLEY:
"Lulu? *There* you are, I..."

LELOUCH:
"Ack!"

RAI:
"...!"

LELOUCH:
"Shirley... of all the rotten luck³..."

SHIRLEY:
"Whoa! So cute! That really suits you!"

RAI:
"...I think maybe you should've said it *doesn't* suit him, if you don't want to get hurt."

LELOUCH:
"Th, that's a ridiculous thing to think..."

SHIRLEY:
"<giggle> What should I do... I didn't bring a camera with me. Wait just a sec, okay? I'll be right back!"

LELOUCH:
"I most certainly will *not* wait! Let's hurry up and get out of here, Rai!"

RAI:
"Yeah!"

Somehow we managed to change back without being photographed by Shirley, and went back to touring the festivities.

RAI:
"...This school festival thing sure does involve a lot of different kinds of activities⁴, huh...?"

LELOUCH:
"It's a much more open-minded and lively school than most. You were surprised, I take it?"

RAI:
"Yeah. So, where to next?"

LELOUCH:
"It looks like there's a theatre production over there. A peaceful performance would make for a nice change of pace⁵."

RAI:
"Theatre, huh? I'd like to see that."

LELOUCH:
"Then it's settled."
