[TRANSLATED] CODE GEASS: Lelouch of the Re;surrection (Chapter 8, Pt 1)
Original Scans: courtesy of Comic NewType

MILLY
Milly Ashford here—
—reporting live from the famous land of warriors, the Kingdom of Zilkhstan.

MILLY
And I'm speaking with Captain of the Elite Guard, Shesthaal1.
MILLY
The other day, an incident occurred at that Hashvess refugee camp, they're calling it the Hashvess Puzzle...
Can you tell us anything about the disappearances of those from the WHA, including Honorary Consultant Nunnally?
SHESTHAAL FORGNAR
Nothing new, I'm afraid.

SHESTHAAL
The area where she was taken is bordered by four other nations
as well as our own Zilkhstan...
...so the search is no simple matter.
SHESTHAAL
Lady Nunnally has contributed tremendously to this era of international postwar peace, and to lose her now...
...could be considered a blow to every single human being who hoped for a brighter tomorrow.
SHESTHAAL
Our Holy Priestess is especially heartbroken.

C.C.
All right, it's ready.
C.C.
Spread out the sofreh for me,
Lelouch

C.C.
Well, you could have done it before, couldn't you.

C.C.
Now, you must be hungry.
Just have whatever you like, okay?

LELOUCH
AHHHHHH—
C.C.
Hold on!
Calm down!
LELOUCH
<still screaming>
C.C.
Everything's okay, so—

C.C.
—Ah—

C.C.
There's nothing to be afraid of...
...nothing here that can hurt you.
C.C.
I know.
I'll get you some warm milk.
With plenty of honey in it, okay?

VOICE
Igaguri-kun, do you read me?
This is Mortar2.

VOICE
Looks like you're eating right, Igaguri-kun.
LLOYD
Which one, which one~

SWAIL QUJAPPAT
LLOYD
Swail Qujappat — twenty-nine years old.
Captain of the Royal Capital's Peace Preservation unit.
LLOYD
He does appear to have had an incident with the Europian mafia, but~...
Well, I'll spare you the details,
but let's just say he's had a colorful career, not the sort of thing appropriate for someone entrusted with preserving the peace.
VOICE (KALLEN)
More than he seems, then.
Right?

LLOYD
Oh!
And these others, too, are reasonably dangerous.
KALLEN
Just like we thought...
SAYOKO
This is Hornet.
There are indications that they were taken to the temple and the prison.
KALLEN
So this is 'Black', huh.

C.C.
(If what we did back then really caused a bug3...)

They can't have found Lelouch, but...

SWAIL
We've been spotted.
It's Black, all right.

LLOYD
Goodness, they really are attacking 'within the day', aren't they...
SAYOKO
They must really want to eliminate us.
KALLEN
Okay, but let's get back in position first!

C.C.
Can't you just leave us out of this4...!

KALLEN
Huh?
But — you're...
C.C.
Kallen?!

C.C.
Sloppy as ever, aren't you.
You're so5—
KALLEN
What are you doing here, C.C.?
C.C.
That's my line.
What are you doing here, of all places...?
SAYOKO
It's been a while, Mistress C.C.
LLOYD
Yes, unfortunately,6
we're here at His Highness Schneizel's request.

LLOYD
We've come to find Zero and Lady Nunnally.
LLOYD
<?>
And this country was the most suspicious...
KALLEN
Of course, we can't just accuse anyone,
they'll complain we don't have any proof
and it'll be a diplomatic incident.
KALLEN
But...
SAYOKO
Yes.
They do seem set on eliminating us now.
Mistress C.C., have you been keeping up with the news?

C.C.
Oh.
No, I—

SWAIL
Bad luck, if you were just a tourist.

SWAIL
All of you, fall back.
KALLEN
Oh, are you in charge here?
KALLEN
Because if this is your idea of a tourist attraction—

KALLEN
It's a little much, don't you think?
SWAIL
I thought it was pretty appropriate, for dogs from the UFN.
KALLEN
Hmph!
Then let's settle this, one-on-one.

SWAIL
Oh, no.
SWAIL
I'm neither a knight nor a samurai, you see.
1 Milly's using humble forms here, very polite and appropriate for a newscaster.↩
2 I'm assuming these are code names? Kallen might be "Igaguri-kun"...? Sayoko appears to be Hornet... I'd guess Lloyd was Mortar, except that the first speech bubbles (which seem to only be used when the character speaking is not on panel) appear with him... on panel. So I'm making a guess that it's someone who's still on the aircraft, like Schnee.↩
3 In the software sense.↩
4 C.C. appears to be assuming this is some random act of terrorism, so she's kind of muttering at the universe.↩
5 She gets cut off, but probably would've said Kallen has been sloppy a lot. (色々と, meaning 'variously', is often used with this nuance of something being a lot as well as different kinds.)↩
6 Lloyd's use of いやね with this little wave feels like he's saying, very succinctly, "Yes, I don't like that we're here any more than you do, C.C."↩

Good scenes. I still remember them from the anime. The surprising meeting of C.C. Kallen and the rest. Looking forward to the next chapter. ^^
