1 Cornelia's language with Schneizel in general is much more formal than with anyone else in the series, but for those keeping score 兄上 is (in animanga, at any rate) a rather stiff way of referring to your [venerable] elder brother. (It's also the word Lelouch uses when he (rarely) refers to Schneizel in familial terms, and decidedly not how Euphy or Nunnally refer to their older siblings (お姉さま/お兄さま), which is still very respectful but with much more warmth.)↩
2 Schneizel's sentence structure indicates that he will "also" lie if it's effective — that he'll do anything, so long as it's effective.↩
3 Schneizel's phrasing here suggests a parent disciplining a child. Hence Cornelia's response.↩
4 The official translation for this line uses "God", singular and with a capital G, but when animanga characters talk about God they tend to say 神さま, not just 神. Given the general tenor of Cornelia's statement (literally that anyone who isn't 神 won't be forgiven for doing something like this — honestly the most sincerely religious any CG character has ever sounded), I think she'd definitely be using さま if she meant the Christian god. (The official translation goes really hard on everyone being Christian, but I would argue that there is generally more evidence that the Holy Britannian Empire is polytheistic, specifically worshiping Celtic or Roman deities — Lelouch's melodramatic invocation of the general concept of messiahs in "Bloodstained Euphy" (S1E22) notwithstanding.)↩
