No, that's not a judgment call -- that's the name: World's Best Cat Litter. But I agree wholeheartedly. Buy it! Buy it now!

Only cat lovers need apply. Unless you want the details about kitty bathroom habits, I guess. )

Getting to bed kinda late, but I didn't want to lose my momentum.

Cleaning-the-house goal:
1.) Living room/dining room/stairs (clearing out, vacuuming).
2.) Litterbox changing.
3.) Upstairs bathroom, downstairs bathroom.
4.) Kitchen.
5.) My room.

(Oh, thank you, cats, for not peeing on anything while your litterbox was horrible between buying litter. Thank you so much. You are good boys.)

[livejournal.com profile] kay_willow and I have successfully bathed our cats. We used scent-free baby shampoo, though in the future we'll get special pet shampoo. (Apparently human shampoo isn't pH balanced for feline skin, and that's no good.) Ela went first, and was fascinated by the water as it filled the tub -- much less interested in it once we lowered him down into the wet. He put up a pretty mild fight, long periods of being fairly docile interspersed with attempts to escape, but towards the end he made the most awful yowling noises. ;_; Poor baby.

I thought Roxas might get scared off by the sounds of cat-torture coming from our upstairs bathroom, but he almost slept through it. We scooped him up and took him into the bathroom for his turn. If anything he was even calmer, for the most part -- one escape attempt sliced us both open, though, and resulted in him hiding behind the shower curtain for a little bit. He yowled pitifully once, and was then resigned to the rest of the experience. What a good boy~

We suspect that Roxas was more tolerant because he's younger; closer still to that kitten age where you hold still and let Mom bathe you. To emulate that experience, we're considering an alternative [livejournal.com profile] kay_willow found online -- wet washcloth spongebath-esqueness.

Both cats are very wet and skinny and pitiful-looking. But they're also both clean, so. ♥ We win. Even if we do have to change clothes now because everything got soaked in the process.

How much do I love my new kitten?

Two things have been unchanged about my sleeping habits since I was fifteen or so. a.) I've slept with my door closed. b.) I've slept under two down comforters.

Last night I slept with my door cracked so that the new kitty curled up in the corner of my room on a towel could stay in my room at night.

Today I'm going to start looking for new blankets.

Roxaskitty (yeah, I'm a huge geek; what about it) doesn't like the down. It has pockets of uneven cushioning and is unstable. I set him down on my bed on top of it, and he immediately exits it. As a test, I peeled back the first comforter and set him on the second, which is much older and mostly flat. He sat and curled his tail around himself and stayed put until Namelesskitty mewed through my door and distracted him.

Verdict: Roxaskitty will sleep on my bed if I have different blankets.

Result: Seven years of sleeping habits are changed completely.
